Dataset description

This Preliminary Version of the National Program for the Efficient Use of Water results from a study prepared by the National Laboratory of Engineering Civil (LNEC) with the support of the Instituto Superior de Agronomia (ISA), which it took place from August 2000 to August 2001, promoted by the Water Institute (INAG) of the Ministry of Environment and Planning Territory (MAOT). The aim of this study was to evaluate the efficiency with which water is used in Portugal in the urban, agricultural and industrial sectors, and propose a a set of measures to make better use of this resource, having as additional advantages the reduction of the resulting waste water and the associated energy consumption.
