Dataset description
For the first time since 1998, national greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions have fallen below the annual average target of the Kyoto Protocol. Portugal continues to position itself above the EU-27 average for energy intensity. Primary energy consumption decreased from 2008 to 2009, so the increase in energy intensity was due to the slowdown in wealth generation over the same period.
