Servitude and Restriction of Public Utility (SRUP) — Protected Areas, in force in mainland Portugal.
Protected Areas are a servitude and restriction of public utility. Servitude was constituted by the publication of the diploma that proceeds to classify the protected area.
The areas classified as protected areas constitute the National Network of Protected Areas that integrates the National System of Classified Areas of the Fundamental Network of Conservation of Nature.
Protected areas may be national, regional or local, depending on the interests they seek to safeguard. Protected areas of national interest are managed by ICNF, I.P., and protected areas of regional or local interest are managed by their respective municipalities or associations of municipalities.
The geographical information provided through the respective web services was produced by the DGT and other official entities, from information legally deposited in the National Territorial Information System (SNIT) concerning the delimitation of Protected Areas.
