Dataset description

The dataset contains a list of schools that participated in the Ecological Footprint and received the Ecological Footprint Certificate for successful completion of the program in a given school year. The Ecological Footprint programme has been operated by the Slovak Environment Agency since 2009. It is accessible at www.ekostopa.sk and is built on working with an Internet calculator of the school’s ecological footprint. It provides teachers with modern teaching methods, ideas for project teaching and the use of ICT in the teaching process. It provides students with new knowledge through playful activities during the teaching process itself. The Ecological Footprint program is designed for kindergartens, primary and secondary schools. The school can obtain the Ecological Footprint Certificate in each school year in which it is actively involved and calculates the value of its ecological footprint (in units of global hectares) for that school year.
