The programme of training of young researchers (hereinafter the MR programme) has been implemented in Slovenia since 1985. It is about the education of prospective students,
these are recognised as drivers of the development of science and for which the state therefore allocates considerable financial resources.
The starting point of the research was to examine how the MR programme achieves its goal of building a knowledge society.
The aim was to check how knowledge is implemented in practice and whether the funds invested by the state in the programme are paid back to society in the long run.
Three focus groups and a survey were carried out to analyse the program. The additional objectives of the survey were to highlight examples of good practice and areas where the programme could be further improved.
