The balance forecasts the total annual consumption of individual energy sources and the ways of securing the energy supply in the country. It contains data on energy supply, transformations, own use and losses and final consumption.
In accordance with the second paragraph of Article 25 of the Energy Act (EZ-1), the ministry responsible for energy shall submit an annual energy balance for adoption by the Government.
The energy balance of the Republic of Slovenia shows data on supply, energy conversion (transformation) and consumption of all energy sources in the Republic of Slovenia in accordance with the OECD/IEA methodology. The main purpose of the balance is an indicative presentation of the supply and consumption of all energy resources in natural quantities and in energy equivalent (Joules) used for both energy and non-energy purposes. For each source of energy (in natural quantities and equivalent energy), its basic energy balance is made, from which the entire flow of the source from the supply sector is evident, through the process of transformation (conversion) and losses to end-use at the level of the end user. Physical related energy sources (solid fuels, petroleum products, etc.) are collected in a combined balance.
