Data on weather measurements and observations at synoptic stations

The collection includes measurements and observations at synoptic meteorological stations or 1st order meteorological stations. At the Synoptic Meteorological Station, meteorological elements are observed and measured in certain major and auxiliary synoptic terms (00, 03, 06, 09, 12, 15, 18 and 21 UTC). Atmospheric phenomena are observed and recorded continuously, even during observation periods.All synoptic stations (and some climatic) send depeshes in the BUFR code record, which are transmitted through GTS for international exchange. At the synoptic station, observations and measurements are carried out by a professional observer. Observers must enter all measurements and observations in the synoptic and climatic logbooks sent monthly to the Department of Meteorology. At the Synoptic Station, the following shall be observed: current and past weather, cloudiness — amount and type of clouds, height of cloud base, visibility, special phenomena, general phenological phenomena, crop condition, soil condition. It is measured: wind direction and speed, air temperature at 2 m, extreme air temperature (maximum and lowest), soil temperature at depths 2, 5, 10, 20, 30, 50 and 100 cm, minimum temperature 5 cm above the ground, air pressure, air pressure tendencies, pressure tendencies, air humidity at 2 m, soil humidity, precipitation (type, height and intensity), snow cover (land cover level — snow cover area, height of new and total snow cover, snow density), depth of freezing and melting of land, solar radiation, evaporation. Archival data have been available since 1995. Synoptic measurements and observations for the last 48 hours are also published on the World Wide Web.
