Every year, at the initiative of the National Assembly, the Government prepares a response report, the central part of which is an overview of the implementation of the recommendations made by the Ombudsman in his regular annual reports. Government portfolios (Ministry, Offices, Services and Secretariat) assess the degree of implementation of individual recommendations, indicate the actions they have taken or intend to take in the future, as well as explain the reasons why some recommendations have not been implemented. The portfolios also provide clarifications to the Ombudsman’s report on the implementation of the tasks of the National Preventive Mechanism under the Optional Protocol to the UN Convention against Torture and Other Cruel, Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment. The response reports of the Government together with the reports of the Ombudsman are discussed by the National Assembly.
