New Religious Movements

The basic purpose of the research was to obtain basic information about one of the older, larger, better organised and more active new religious movements in Slovenia, the Krishna Consciousness Community. The survey contains data on community development, its functioning, organisational structure and funding, community lifestyles, religious practices, and so on. One of the goals was also to find out who the members of the community are, what their involvement in the community is and what their relations with their surroundings are. The purpose of the research was also to determine the extent to which members of the community (if any) share in the entire Slovenian population in terms of socio-demographic characteristics and some of their views, and to investigate the similarities and differences between members of the community and active Catholics.
