Article 14 of Council Directive 2011/70/Euratom of 19 July 2011 establishing a Community framework for the responsible and safe management of spent fuel and radioactive waste requires Member States to submit to the Commission a report on the implementation of this Directive every three years, for the first time in 2015. The national report contains general data on the nuclear programme in the Republic of Slovenia and details the compliance of the individual requirements of the Directive with the domestic regulation and management of radioactive waste (RAO) and spent fuel (IG) in Slovenia. A description of the national policy and programme for the management of the RAOs and IGs of the competent administrative bodies is provided, the requirements to be met by RAO and IG holders, the provision of expertise in the field concerned, the financial resources, the way in which the public is informed and involved in matters relating to the management of RAOs and IGs, and the current inventory and projections of the increase in the quantities of RAOs and IGs in the following years.
