The Ronda peridotitas database is created in order to be able to handle and consult all the information from the research projects for precious metals (gold and platinum group elements) carried out in the Outrabase massifs of Malaga jointly between the Spanish Institute of Technology and Geominero and the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism of the Junta de Andalucía during the late 80s.
The studies carried out in the Ultrabase massizos of Malaga comprise six research projects with their respective memories. The projects are as follows:
— Review of the Metalogenetic Map of Spain. Area of the ultra-basic massizos of Malaga.
— Mineralometric Cartography to support the Metalogenetic Cartography of Malaga Mountains.
— Investigation of precious metals (gold and platinum group elements) in the outer massizos of Malaga. Petrological and Petrogenetics Research in the Ronda Massif. Phase (I).
Densification of sampling and analysis in the investigation for precious metals (gold and platinoids) in the ‘Malaga massizo’ reserve.
— Research of precious metals (gold and platinum group elements) in the outer massifs of Ronda, Petrogenetic and Petrological Research, Phase (II).
Investigation of precious metals in restricted areas of the State reserves “Malaga massizos”.
All the information generated by the projects was processed and incorporated into a database.
The database was entered in SIGMA in 1995, when the versions of the final database were delivered.
