Red Ferroviaria

Digital base of the railway network of Andalusia. It includes the different paths and their categories, being able to differentiate between the different existing widths (double track, normal gauge, narrow track), the route of the AVE or the decommissioned sections. Information is also available regarding the electrification of the track as well as the gauge of the track differentiating between UIC and Iberian gauge. It is generated with the intention that it serves as a homogeneous reference for planning tasks of the Autonomous Administration. The information has been collected at various levels of observation, although it is assumed that 1:100,000 would be the minimum scale at which representation is reliable. The data, which are in shape format, have been updated monthly since 1996 in the Ministry of Public Works and Transport, the body responsible for information, despite the fact that the competences in the field of the railway network are from the National Geographical Institute, Ministry of Development.
