Dataset description

Obtaining a series of products for the generation of environmental information prior to and after the fire, in this sense the delimitation of the fire started on 09/09/2017 in La Granada de Riotinto, Zufre and the Castle of the Guards on the satellite image PLEIADES 1B (resolution 0.5 m) on 22/12/2017. From the images of the satellite SENTINEL 2A (31/07/2017 and 19/09/2017) calculates the NDVI- Normalised Difference Vegetation Index, which based on the contrast between the red and near infrared bands of the spectrum, highlights the plant cover and its vigor over large areas, and the calcination index (NBR-Normalised Burn Ratio) that compares the near infrared and infrared shortwave 2 bands to determine the severity of the calcination. Other products that are generated are the Digital Model of Normalised Vegetation Height, Lithological and Edaphic Variables and Forest Variables:Density, Volume with bark and dry Biomass. Regarding biomass calculations, information on the volume of wood and biomass of conifers has been obtained in the area affected by the fire based on the digital information of the Forest Biomass Study of Andalusia. It includes information from the NDVI obtained from the orthophotography of 0.20 m of 2018 generated in the framework of the “Emergency Management Service — Risk Mapping and Recovery (EMS-RRM)” of the European Union Earth Observation Programme “Copernicus”.
