Protected Natural Spaces of the Principality of Asturias — WFS

Web service that allows you to visualise the Protected Natural Areas and Habitats of Community Interest of the Principality of Asturias. In accordance with Law 42/2007 on Natural Heritage and Biodiversity, protected areas are considered to be those areas in the territory that meet at least one of the following requirements and are declared as such: 1)Contain natural systems or elements representative, singular, fragile, threatened or of particular ecological, scientific, landscape, geological or educational interest 2) Be dedicated in particular to the protection and maintenance of biological diversity, geodiversity and associated natural and cultural resources. The Conservation of Natural Areas in Asturias is carried out according to the assets and values to be protected and the management objectives to be fulfilled and, in this sense, the WFS service has grouped the Protected Natural Areas within 5 categories: — Integrated Management Instruments (IGI), — Natura 2000 network, — Network of National Parks, — Regional Network of Protected Natural Areas of Asturias (RRENP) — Spaces protected by international instruments.
