The Web Map Service called Mountains of Public Utility allows the visualisation and consultation of the data set within the Spanish Inventory of Natural Heritage and Biodiversity (IEPNB), the 'Spanish Inventory of Forest Heritage. Catalogue of Public Utility Mountains’ which is one of the priority components. Due to its importance, this service collects the information of the summary layer of the ownership of the mountains corresponding to the mountains cataloged of Public Utility in accordance with the provisions of Law 4/2003 of November 21 of Montes, amended by Law 10/2006 of April 28 in its Title II (Classification and legal regime of the mountains) and tenth additional provision. The information used to generate this layer of the viewer has been sent by the autonomous communities within the framework of the IEPNB or it was already deposited in the Nature Data Bank for use in other projects such as the National Forestry Inventory and, although this is not homogeneous, an effort has been made to adapt to the classification established by the aforementioned Law of Forestry according to ownership and condition. The complete classification of the ownership of the forests, prepared by the Forest Heritage and Property Service of the Directorate-General for Rural Development and Forest Policy of this Ministry, is as follows:
