Statistics from population surveys in relation to activity only allow population analysis at high levels of aggregation. More detailed analysis would require access to administrative data. In the case of the unemployed population this level of analysis is carried out through the data of jobseekers recorded by the public employment services. For the analysis of the occupation, it would be necessary to access the data of registered employees registered in the Social Security system. Given the difficulties in accessing this level of information, Social Security makes available to researchers the Continuous Work Lives Sample (MCVL) which is an extract of anonymised individual data from the Social Security databases, to which are added others taken from the Municipal Continuous Register (INE).
