Census Sections of General Census of Spain

The territorial delimitation of the Censal Sections establishes the scope of this statistical unit inferior to the municipality that is the basis of the statistical operations of the General Census. Every municipality is divided into one or more Censal Sections and there is no part of the municipality that does not belong to a Censal Section. The sections of a municipality are grouped into one or more Censal Districts and every Section belongs to a Censal District. The update of the Censal Section of the General Census is carried out in accordance with the reference date of each statistical operation. To the extent that this date is different, so will the repertoires of Censal Sections in relation to the Electoral Census and the Register of Inhabitants.
