Shoreline extracted from the electronic nautical charts (ENC) of purpose 4 and 5 of navigation published by the Hydrographic Institute of the Navy (IHM) of Spain. A scale of 1:50000 is considered as a resolution base although there are areas where the resolution can reach 1:22000. Royal Decree 1545/2007, of 23 November, regulating the National Cartographic System establishes in its article 20 that they will have to register in the RCC among others the straight baselines and the limits corresponding to the Continental Shelf. Likewise, in Article 22, point 2c, the IHM is responsible for referring to the RCC those cartographic technical aspects necessary for the representation of straight baselines and maritime delimitations once approved by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation. It should be noted that, in general, the geometry with which each line appears inscribed in the RCC has a geometric uncertainty due, mainly to its antiquity, since they were obtained from mapping of very small scales and also in ED50 datum, forcing its transformation to the ETRS89 datum.
