The International Patent Classification, commonly referred to as CIP, is based on an international multilateral treaty administered by WIPO (World Intellectual Property Organisation) and called the Strasbourg Agreement on the International Patent Classification, concluded in 1971 and entered into force in 1975.
There are two versions of the CIP, in French and English, which WIPO publishes, but the full CIP text is also being prepared and published in other languages, including Spanish. The Spanish version of the CIP can be accessed through this page.
