It is the own network of Monitoring of Damage in Forests of the Community Foral of Navarre, called “Phytosanitary Assessment Network in the Forest Masses of Navarre” (REFINA).
It consists of control points installed in the nodes of a systematic mesh of 8x8km arranged along the length and width of the C.F. of Navarre. It is based on the same common guidelines of the ICP-Forests programme that use the “Spanish Network for Monitoring the Status of Forests (Network Level I)”, as well as the rest of the European countries that make up the European Forest Damage Network (Level I), arranged in 16x16km mesh across Europe.
The network allows us to know in more detail the variation in time and space of the state of vitality of the main forest systems existing in Navarre, through two basic parameters such as: The loss of foliage and damage to the woodland, classified by different stressors, including quarantine organisms, damage of anthropic origin or air pollution.
