Dataset description

The mapping included in this service contains the delimitation of the Hydrographic Districts corresponding to the river basin management plans of the second planning cycle 2015-2021, as reported to the European Commission. River basin district means the terrestrial and marine area composed of one or more neighbouring river basins and the transitional, ground and coastal waters associated with these basins, in accordance with Article 16 bis.1 of the Consolidated Text of the Water Law approved by Royal Legislative Decree 1/2001 of 20 July (Article 1.1 RD 125/2007 of 2 February). The river basin districts constitute the main management unit for river basins (Article 16 bis 1 of the Consolidated Text of the Water Law, Royal Legislative Decree 1/2001)
