Renewable CyL: environmental sensitivity REN

Environmental sensitivity to wind and solar energy production facilities in protected natural areas (REN) of Castilla y León. Within the scope of the Network of Protected Natural Areas of Castilla y León REN (parks, nature reserves, natural monuments and protected landscapes, in accordance with Law 4/2015 of 24 March 2015 on the Natural Heritage of Castilla y León), energy production activities are considered generic activities that can be authorised when they are not expressly prohibited in their Natural Resources Management Plans (PORN) or conservation regulations. In any case, in the administrative authorisation procedure the compatibility with the conservation of the relevant values of the space must be ensured. * The submission of this information does not replace the relevant environmental impact assessment procedures for projects or prejudge the results of the corresponding environmental impact statements, since they are offered only to facilitate an early assessment from the early stages of defining a potential renewable energy project on the condition to a specific space with high environmental sensitivity.
