Social protection accounts

The Social Protection Accounts provide, each year, an estimate of social protection expenditure and revenues and their evolution, covering all social protection schemes and risks: social insurance and social intervention schemes of public authorities, including local and regional authorities; social intervention schemes for non-profit institutions serving households; non-legal employer schemes and mutual, supplementary and pension schemes. These accounts are used for the compilation of social protection accounts in the European System of Integrated Social Protection Statistics, supervised by Eurostat. This enables international comparisons to be made.
