Urgent Action Areas (ZAU)

Urgent Action Areas (ZAU) of the Valencian Community. Chapter II, Article 24 of Law 3/1993 Forestry of the Valencian Community states that, after hearing those affected, certain forest areas may be declared, by decree, as Urgent Action Areas in order to preserve them and promote their restoration provided that certain circumstances, including the risk of forest fires, appear in paragraph (g) land affected by any serious ecological alteration or with a risk of affecting it. They are declared by decree of the Valencian Government and implies the obligation to carry out the actions provided for in the draft declaration. It involves both public and private land.
