Dataset description

The Virtual Library of Historical Press is one of the main digitalisation projects that have been carried out in Spain. The project is the result of the cooperation of the Directorate-General for Book, Archives and Libraries, through the Subdirectorate-General for Library Coordination, with the Autonomous Communities as well as various scientific or cultural institutions. The project began with two main objectives: on the one hand, preserve hemerographic materials that, by the very nature of the support, are and will be increasingly in danger of disappearance and, on the other, disseminate information resources requested by researchers and citizens as widely as possible.
