Waste management: extended producer responsibility (RAP) systems authorised in Castilla-La Mancha

The Law 22/2011, of 28 July, on contaminated waste and soil, establishes a framework of responsibility for producers of products that with their use become waste. Considering that these producers have a responsibility for their product that goes beyond the time of sale and reaches the end of its useful life, and in application of the “polluter pays” principle, the Law involves them in the prevention and organisation of the management of waste derived from their products, establishing the obligations to which producers are subject both at the design and production stage of their products and during the management of waste derived from their use.
