WMS Service (Web Map Service) Isolated Populations

The WMS Service (Web Map Service) called “Isolated Populations” allows the visualisation and consultation of the data set that represent the cartography included in this service contains the information of the isolated populations in Spain, updated as of May 2018. Council Directive 1999/31/EC of 26 April 1999 on the landfill of waste defines ‘isolated population’ as the stock: • With a maximum of 500 inhabitants per municipality or population and with a maximum of 5 inhabitants per square kilometre, and • With a distance to the nearest urban agglomeration of 250 inhabitants per square kilometre not less than 50 kilometers, or with a difficult road communication to these nearest agglomerations due to unfavourable weather conditions during a significant part of the year.
