Xeno-canto (XC) is an online database that provides access to sound recordings of wild birds from around the world. The recordings are shared by a growing community of thousands of recorders around the world, birdwatchers and professionals. The goal of Xeno-canto is to have a representation of all the sounds of the birds, that is, all the taxa, up to the level of subspecies, their complete repertoire, all geographical variability, at all stages of development. The Xeno-canto website (www.xeno-canto.org) was launched in 2005. It is run by the Xeno-canto Foundation for Sounds of Nature in the Netherlands, with the support of the Naturalis Biodiversity Centre. Here the data corresponding to the Autonomous Community of the Basque Country have been imported from Gbif.
