Dataset description
A water catchment area is delineated ultimately by a surface watershed and covers both the surface of the land and the surface of the lakes of the demarcated area. All surface run-off from the area has a common outlet at a given point in a watercourse. The catchment area is defined by the upstream area to this point.
The product, based on version SVAR 2016:6, contains 53 538 polygons representing river basins at all 53 538 sub-basins outlet points.
The polygons within a main catchment area are overlapping. All sub-basins upstream of an outlet point are merged into a polygon so that all run-off to that outlet point comes.
