Dataset description
SGI has, on behalf of the Government, a coordination responsibility at government level for beach erosion. This means, among other things, that the Institute will provide support to authorities, county administrative boards and municipalities in matters relating to beach erosion. This includes carrying out a survey of occurrence (extent) and conditions for beach erosion in Sweden. A comprehensive inventory of beach erosion along the entire Swedish sea coast and beaches on the six largest lakes has been carried out in collaboration with the municipalities concerned. Inventory of conditions for erosion in watercourses is carried out in a similar way.
