GE.Earth species 1:25 000-1:100,000

GE.Earth species 1:25 000-1:100,000 is a transformed version of SGU’s product Earth species 1:25 000-1:100,000 in order to meet Inspire data specification for the Geology theme by coding according to GeoSciML 4.1. The information is simplified, on the one hand, with regard to the classification of soils into lithological units and, on the other hand, in the case of polygonal layers with lithological units. In this version, only JG2 base layers are accounted for, which means that any underlying or overlying thin or incoherent surface layers are not accounted for. The survey has been carried out using different methods, varying geographical data and for presentation scales from 1:25 000 to 1:100,000. This means that there are major differences in quality within the product, both in terms of location accuracy and the classification of soil types.
