Dataset description
GE.Hydrogeology provides a generalised picture of groundwater resources in soil and rock and complies with Inspire’s data specification for Geology theme. The data set contains the object types Aquifer, AquiferSystems, Aquiclude, GroundWaterBody and information about natural sources. In this dataset, only the top basic reservoir in soil and the top groundwater reservoir are reported in sedimentary rock.
The information is a basis for decision-making in municipal planning for land use, water supply, groundwater protection and groundwater-related permit and monitoring issues. The level of detail of the information differs across the country, overview information in scale 1:250,000 dominates but more detailed information in scale 1:50 000 is available over several areas, especially in southern Sweden.
