Historical beach lines (view service)

The Historical Beach Lines display the location of the shoreline along the coast of Skåne as interpreted from orthophotos from different years. Lantmäteriet’s rectified historical orthophotos and orthophotos from 1939-1940 from Geocentrum, Lund University have been used. Most of Lantmäteriet’s orthophotos are composed of a mosaic of images from different years. In those cases, a breakdown by year has been made and the images have been grouped for decades in terms of flying years. The images are from the 1970s, 1960s, 1950s and 1939-40 and cover most of the Scanian coast. The service also includes an analysis of how the shoreline changed from 1940 to 2010.
