In the track network there are single, double and multi-tracks. Inside operational sites, there are several parallel tracks for passenger exchange, loading and unloading, meetings, switching and setting up track vehicles. Inside operational and line sites with main tracks and sidings, the tracks are referred to as a track number that can be either numerical or alphanumeric. On the line between operational sites only main tracks exist. They are called UNE tracks, with E for single track, U (track) and N (downtrack) for double tracks. Uppspår (U;usp) is the left track of double track for trains with even train numbers, i.e. usually trains with the target norther than the exit station. The track is mainly used for up-(=north)-going traffic.
