The view service presents a highly simplified picture of soil stability properties. The product is based on a reclassification of the basic layer of soil data 1:25 000-1:100,000 to three stability classes: Solid land, non-solid land and unassessed land.
Read more about the underlying data set here: http://resource.sgu.se/dokument/produkter/jordarter-25-100000-beskrivning.pdf
The class of solid land includes areas with mountains, moraine, ice river sediments, gravel, block soil and the like. The class does not include areas with silt, clay, peat, mud, postglacial sand and other deposits, which in many cases are backed by silt, clay or filling. For example, soil inclination and humidity conditions have not been taken into account.
The product is intended to be used, for example, as a basis for an early assessment of which land areas have the potential to be affected by further cuts in the event of, for example, an event or ongoing landslide.
In view of any deficiencies in the documentation, a site-specific assessment shall always be made in the terrain.
