NVDB Restricted Gross Weight

The data product includes data on the traffic rule, as communicated by regulation or other decision, on the restriction to a lower gross mass of vehicles or trains than otherwise applicable. The data product consists of the phenomenon type Limited gross weight belonging to the product group NVDB and the product subgroup Traffic Regulation Types in NVDB. The data product is registered on the car network. The purpose of the data product is to provide customers with information on road sections where traffic is regulated by indicating the maximum permissible weight of vehicles or trains. This information can prevent heavy-duty vehicle traffic from taking these roads. There is a possibility of exemption for certain types of vehicles. Traffic control can be used to make it easy to see where traffic is restricted by regulation. The user can also see where on the road a regulation of traffic begins and ends. For example, limited gross weight of vehicles or trains can be used to prevent heavy traffic on sensitive roads during frost unloading.
