Open Services (WMS, WFS, REST-API) against Sweden’s Natura 2000 sites. The Natura 2000 database contains Swedish sites designated as part of the EU’s coherent European ecological network of natural areas, Natura 2000. The information shows the decisions made by the Swedish Government on various occasions regarding areas to the network. Natura 2000 sites are designated under the EU Habitats Directive(Directive 92/43/EEC) or Birds Directive (Directive 79/409/EEC), sometimes both Directives. In the services, this is shown as: •Natura 2000 (SCI), sites designated under the Species and Habitats Directive •Natura 2000 (SPA), special protection area under the Birds Directive •Natura 2000 (SPA/SCI), areas designated under both Directives The services provide information on the species and/or nature types the site is designated for conservation. The Birds Directive deals with birds. The Habitats Directive deals with habitat types and species groups other than birds. The services do not provide access to the complete database. The Swedish Environmental Protection Agency is responsible for the information in the database, but each county administrative board is the primary source of all this information.
