Purpose: Describe current weather and over time the climate. Basis for forecasting and climate studies.
Unit: °C
Features: Dew point is a measure of how much water vapour the atmosphere contains. If the temperature drops to the dew point, the air is saturated with water vapour and the relative humidity is 100 %. From measurements of temperature and relative humidity, the dew point is calculated.
Network information:
— Basic network: Data is collected and stored in SMHI’s databases. Data is quality controlled, which means that incorrect data is corrected and data loss is supplemented on the basis of expert judgement where possible. The stations are continuously monitored, inspected and maintained by SMHI.
— Other stations: Data is collected and stored in SMHI’s databases. The data quality is unknown to SMHI as SMHI neither performs quality control on data nor inspections at the stations.
Quality Codes: Green = Verified and approved values. Yellow = Suspected values, aggregated values and roughly controlled archive data.
Boundaries: —60 to + 40 °C
