Purpose: Observe the oxygen content of the sea to gain a better understanding of oceanographic processes, the spread of oxygen-free bottoms and to monitor long-term changes. Data shall be available for validation and assimilation of internal SMHI models and available for internal and external analyses and investigations.
Unit:The oxygen content is expressed in ml of dissolved oxygen per litre of water, ml/l.
Features: Measurements of the concentration of oxygen from different types of measurement systems such as buoys, bottom measuring systems and vessels (FerryBox). Measurement once per hour. Some stations deliver data from several levels below sea level. For some stations, more high-resolution data may be available, but in that case it must be requested.
Quality Codes: Green (G) = Verified and approved values. Yellow (Y) = Coarse controlled values, suspicious or aggregated values. Orange (O) = Uncontrolled values
Boundaries: 0-10 ml/l
