Cantonal guideline, elements of transport

The indicative plan sets out the priorities for the operation and development of public transport infrastructure and for the completion of the sections of the adopted national road network in accordance with settlement, transport and economic policy criteria. Important Bernese road connections of supraregional importance will be included in the network of roads of national importance. The objectives of air pollution control allow for some growth in motorised traffic. For traffic-intensive construction projects at strategically important cantonal locations, so-called mileage loans can be reserved.
