Civil Protection Organisation in the Canton of Fribourg — Organisation of Zivilschutzes im Kanton Freiburg

The canton of Fribourg has three civil protection regions (North, Central, South). Each of these regions has an intervention company. These are the elements of response in emergency situations or during disasters. The number of active civil protection penalty payments amounts to 1160. In addition, approximately 900 educated persons are available in an active reserve. The management of civil protection in the canton, the training of periodic penalty payments and interventions are the responsibility of the Department for the Protection of the Population and Military Affairs. As such, it has a civil protection sector of 13.8 full-time equivalents.
