Three times* weekly SARS-CoV-2 RNA measurements from samples from thirteen wastewater treatment plants (ARA) distributed over the Canton of Zurich. The analysed values are published a few days later (on Wednesdays once a week). *ARA Winterthur: Five times a week measurements. Contain data: ‘SARS-CoV-2 RNA in raw wastewater per 100,000 persons’, ‘Inflow to the ARA in cubic meters per day’, ‘Intake area (number of inhabitants connected to the ARA)’. Important note: Measurements of SARS-CoV-2-RNA in wastewater are partly subject to significant measurement errors. An interpretation of SARS-CoV-2 wastewater measurements compared to the case numbers is therefore only meaningful over longer periods of time and depends on the chosen scale. The data should therefore be interpreted with caution, as there is a great scope for misinterpretation. In the period from January to early March 2022, the update of the data was paused to investigate the deviations in wastewater monitoring from the reported positive case numbers. After the method has been adapted to the prevailing virus variant, the data will be updated retroactively from January 2022.
