The flat bog inventory contains mapped flat bogs of at least 1 ha of surface, which reach a defined number of value points based on an assessment approach for vegetation (diversity, rarity and conservation status) and area. In addition, objects with singularities can be added. The flat bog inventory was put into effect in 1994 with a 1st series of 728 objects, supplemented in 1996 with a 2nd and a 3 rd series to 1163 objects in 1996. In 2001, 2004 and 2007 three revisions were carried out, bringing the inventory to 1170 objects. Purpose: The regulation on flat bogs protects the most important flat bogs in Switzerland.
