Federal Inventory of Waterbird and Migratory Reserves of International and National Importance (according to OROEM) (FR)

The amendment of the Regulation on water and migratory bird reserves to 1 August 2001 protects significantly more areas for wintering water and migratory birds. This will greatly improve the protection of water and migratory birds living in Switzerland all year round, reduce the disturbance of birds to a portable level and contribute overall to the conservation of biodiversity. The revision includes a new object as well as changes in the reserves of international importance, as well as the inclusion of 16 new reserves of national importance and changes to the existing properties. The objects (protected areas) are divided into 6 categories (5 protection categories, e.g. hunting and shipping, or partially permitted, etc. and wild damage perimeter) Purpose The revision of the Ordinance on the Water and Migratory Bird Reserves provides further protection of the indigenous water bird reserves designated by the Swiss bird observatory Sempach.
