The natural hazard map shows which areas are endangered by natural hazards. According to the Federal Government, four different hazard levels are distinguished, which result from the investigation of the two main processes floods (flood waters and sea floods) as well as mass movements (stone impact/block impact, slides permanent, slides spontaneous and hang murmurs). For further information processes (surface drainage/wetting, shore erosion, overmature/surge, groundwater boost, backlog in sewers and inactive slides) information areas are recorded. The main process of flooding is developed nationwide throughout the canton, the main process of mass movements only in selected municipalities. The initial recording was completed at the end of 2017 and since then revisions of the older hazard maps have been carried out.
