Dataset description
At the beginning of 2011, the thirteen jurisdictions were replaced by four regional courts. The four judicial regions correspond to the administrative regions: Bernese Jura — Seeland (headquarters in Biel and external office in Moutier), court region Bern-Mittelland (seat in Bern), Emmental-Oberaargau (seat in Burgdorf), Oberland (seat in Thun). There is a regional court for each of the four judicial regions. The Regional Court of Berner Jura-Seeland has a branch office in the Bernese Jura (Moutier). Per regional court, the Criminal Division and the Civil Division are presented as overlapping polygons, with the exception of the Regional Court Emmental-Oberaargau (no distinction between the Criminal/Civil Division).
