Dataset description

This data set shows the resident population of the Canton of Basel-Stadt at district level. The data is updated monthly. Until 2011, only end-of-year stocks are available.The figures published here for the years 1979 to 2011 differ from those published in cantonal public statistics for methodological reasons: In the latter, the population was determined by updating until 2011. Since 2012, it has been based directly on evaluations from the cantonal population register. The values published here, on the other hand, have been based on evaluations from the population register since 1979.
