Dataset description

The Smiley speed indicators serve the Basel-Stadt Cantonal Police to increase traffic safety at the location in question. The change indicator of the currently driven speed and smiley symbol (lob or rebuke) without repression indicates any driving behaviour in a friendly way. The aim of this self-control is to positively influence the driving behaviour, to better adhere to the prescribed speed and to increase the attention of traffic participants. The devices can also be used to record traffic data anonymously. The speed indications are not related to regular busses or criminal prosecution.
