In 1979 and 1990 wetlands were examined for their plant population and state. The results of these recordings were stored in a 4th dimension database (BIS database). The individual observations are georeferenced via point coordinates. The mapping areas were digitised in the GIS from plan. A wetland can be mapped by several mapping areas. The observations from the 4th dimension database were exported and converted to a GIS point record. Subsequently, the objects of the two new data sets “wetlands” and “observations” were linked as far as possible. As linking criteria, the spatial superposition or/and comparable attribute values of nearby objects were taken into account. Some more recent post mappings are available for individual areas.
