Swiss National Park and Parks of National Importance (Zones) (FR)

The biogeographical regions of Switzerland (in 6 or 10 classes) are based on a purely statistical outline based on the mapping of the Swiss flora of the CRSF and faunistic data from the CSCF. For better use in practice, the identified regional borders have been adapted to the official municipal borders (swisstopo, GGG25 as of 2000). The municipalities of Leukerbad, Mesocco and the Bergell were divided as exceptions within the municipal boundaries and two regions were added. In the basic classification (6 regions), they form the basis for the ongoing and future projects in the field of nature conservation as defined by the FOEN. Further requirements were taken into account by subdividing into 10 sub-regions.
